Dj jayfive was born and raised in Astoria Queens. His nationality is West indian Guyanese & Filipino. Having such a diverse nationality background he grew up having a respect for listening to and learning from all kinds of music such as Hip Hop, rock, reggae and latin. Jayfive went to Robert F. Wagner High school of Arts and Technology where he learned to play instruments such as the drums, guitar, and piano. He didnt start djing until the age of 20. Dj'ing was something he always wanted to do but couldnt afford the equipment. After saving up he bought his first gemini 4 channel mixer and a pair of turntables. Once he learned to blend music he soon learned some basic scratches and been learning more and more about Dj'ing since. Jayfive is now using his skills of instruments to start producing music and creating beats. He is a part of the well known All Pro Dj's crew thanks to Dj Prostyle from New York's Power 105.1 radio station. Prostyle noticed him doing a great job DJ'ing as the opening DJ at Sofa Lounge in the Bronx and announced him that night on twitter as the newest member of the All Pro DJ's. You can find Jayfive as a Resident Dj at the Famous Club Perfection in Queens Mondays & Saturdays alongside some of the most well known Artist's such as Diddy, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, plus more. I fell in love with DJing after watching the late, great Grandmaster Roc Raida when I was 14. I learned how to DJ watching & working with friends but really began to take it serious 6 years ago. My main focus is party music which includes anything from old school, r&b, house & hip hop..anything that keeps the party going.
